Welcome to the Birmingham Economy. The information on this web site is provided for you by Birmingham City Council's Economic Strategy and Information Group.

Our mission is to secure jobs and prosperity for Birmingham people, by developing and promoting strategic economic leadership, through an understanding of the City's economy.

Our teams of economic and policy analysts have many years experience in providing economic research and policy guidance in support of economic development and regeneration. At the heart of our work is the capture, analysis and dissemination of objective and evidenced based economic and labour market information about the City's economy and its relationship to the region, UK and Europe. We provide this analysis to colleagues in the Council and to a wide range of clients from the private, public, voluntary and community sectors across the City on a regular basis. We also provide an information service to enquiries from around the world.
