Constituency ProfilesUpdated: October 2007 Welcome to the Economic and Employment Profiles for the Birmingham constituencies. The profiles are based on the most recent boundary changes and therefore represent the constituency boundaries that will be used in the next general election. The profiles draw together data from a range of sources to provide a detailed economic picture of the constituency. They include estimates of job opportunities in each constituency resulting from labour turnover as well as employment forecasts to 2020. There is an extensive analysis of supply side issues, including unemployment, worklessness and qualification levels, which is intended to inform measures to assist residents into employment. The final section examines (and maps) wealth, income, expenditure and deprivation in the constituency. An Overview Report allows comparison of key socio-economic factors across all 10 constituencies.
