Age structure of Birmingham's residents by Ethnic group

Population data for Birmingham is derived from the 2001 Census of Population.

This fact sheet records the number of people resident in Birmingham in each of the following age groups:- 0-15, 16-24, 25-49, 50-59, 60-64, 65-74 and 75+ by ethnic group.

It shows that:

• 30% of all Birmingham residents were of non-white ethnic origin in 2001.
• 43% of children under the age of 15 were of non-white ethnic origin in 2001.
