This fact sheet compares the number of jobs in Birmingham with the number of jobs in other major cities in Britain (the Core Cities) between 1999 and 2008 using data from the Annual Business Inquiry Employee Survey.

In 1999 there were 482,000 jobs in Birmingham compared to 484,400 in 2008.
