This fact sheet compares the number of jobs in Birmingham with the number of jobs in other major cities in Britain (the Core Cities) between 1998 and 2007 using data from the Annual Business Inquiry Employee Survey.

In 1998 there were 469,200 jobs in Birmingham compared to 479,800 in 2007.
