Employment by EthnicityPublished: January 2005 This fact sheet uses data from the 2001 Census to analyse the employment of Birmingham residents by age and sector for different ethnic groups. The data shows that the greatest numbers of white residents and those of Indian heritage are employed in manufacturing, those of Pakistani heritage in wholesale/retail/repairs, those of Bangladeshi heritage in hotels and restaurants and those of African-Caribbean heritage in health and social work. The fact sheet also breaks down employment by age bands and part-time/full-time and self-employed. |
