This fact sheet uses data from the 2005 Annual Business Inquiry (ABI) Survey to analyse the employment of West Midlands residents by sector and gender.

Some key points are that:

• At 15% of all employed, there remains a significant amount of people in the manufacturing industry.
• The majority of West Midlands residents are employed in the services industry, particulalrly education, health, hotels and restaurants.
