Population data for Birmingham is derived from the 2005 mid-year population estimates from ONS. It should be noted that this data is classed as experimental and is not official data. Please visit the ONS Experimental Statistics page for further details.

This fact sheet records the number of estimated people resident in Birmingham by the following broad age groups: 0-15, 16-64/59 and 65/60+

It shows that:

• 33% of Birmingham's working age residents were of non-white ethnic origin in 2005.
• 43% of children under the age of 15 were of non-white ethnic origin in 2005.
