Unemployment by Ethnicity and Gender (Census 2001 data)Published: January 2005 This document is one of a series of information sheets produced by the BEIC to highlight Key Facts about Birmingham. Note: unemployment rates derived from the Census data differ from rates derived from other official datasets more commonly used to measure these categories, but it does allow a comparison between the different ethnic groups by gender. The only group to have an unemployment rate lower than the city average is the white group. The rate for those of Indian heritage is the same as the city rate and for all other groups the rate is higher than the average. |
